Current Distribution of Tropilaelaps mercedesae
associated with Apis mellifera honey bees
The countries displayed in red in the below interactive map have confirmed cases reported in the peer-reviewed literature of Tropilaelaps mercedesae associated with Apis mellifera by established morphological and/or molecular methods. In most cases, the entire country has been shaded, except for Russia (Krasnodar Krai only), Indonesia (all except Sulawesi), and Philippines (Palawan only), who have recent confirmed cases in the specific regions shown. For countries/regions displayed in white – USA, Turkey, Canada (the island of Newfoundland only) – published peer-reviewed articles reported that T. mercedesae was not observed during survey efforts of A. mellifera colonies.
